How to Create Your Own Recipes for Juicing

Juicing recipes can be found everywhere, at any time day or night. From blogs to cookbooks, there are an abundance of them out there. But occasionally, coming up with the recipe yourself is half the fun. Maybe we haven't quite found what we were looking for in our search for great recipes. Maybe we just like doing things on our own without using help from others. Some people have a very unique pallet that most of the common recipes just don't appeal to them. Whatever the reason, creating your own recipes is a lot easier than most people think. It is also oodles of fun.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself before you get started. Some people enjoy drinking strait juice, others prefer smoothies. Which category do you fall into? Are you trying to cure, prevent or combat an illness? Maybe this is a weight loss adventure for you. Having these questions answered first will make the
process much easier for you when you start working with different combinations of produce. Why do these answers matter so much? There are so many different nutrients in different fruits and veggies, you need to know what you are looking for before you jump in.

For example, are you looking for more energy? Oranges and other produce rich in vitamin C is the perfect answer. Are you trying to combat asthma? Many tests have shown that folic acid will help with symptoms brought on by asthma. Knowing what produce is rich in this nutrient will help.

Knowing which vitamins and minerals are found in which items will be the foundation of many of your recipes. Try to spend sometime learning the health benefits of different vitamins and minerals. Another thing to consider is the taste your going for. Ask yourself if you are looking for something savory or sweet. Do you want it to have a bit of a bite to it or are you going for something that is very easy on the stomach?

Finally after making some of these decisions, you can start looking at which ingredients you are interested in using. There are a few guidelines when it comes to picking the right fruits and veggies to use for juicing. Getting high quality produce is just as important as any other step in this process. Growing your own or making a trip to your local farmer's market is the best choice. Sometimes these choices aren't always available. In that case, try to find the best produce you can and always buy organic when possible.

Some people get overwhelmed at first. Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients. Don't get frustrated if you come up short on your first go. Adding a couple more ingredients can usually change the taste for the better. It won't be long before you are coming up with new, fantastic recipes in your sleep!

Tips and Tricks When Creating Recipes

Adding a scoop of protein powder to your juice will ramp up any exercise routine.

Using sweeter produce like apples or carrots are excellent for evening out the taste of an off mixture.

Avocados and bananas have no juice, this means they are great thickening agents.

Use strong tasting produce like celery sparingly. Start small, you can always add more.

Juicing green leafy veggies probably contain the most health benefits of all produce.

Don't forget to enjoy yourself when juicing.

This can become frustrating at first while you are learning everything. If you don't create a masterpiece out of the gate, don't feel discouraged, it can take time to get the hang of things. Remember to always have fun when juicing, it should be an enjoyable experience. Many people say juicing can be addictive, it really is that enjoyable. So get out there and start creating your own recipes for juicing, you will be glad you did!
